Our Mission

The Mindful Foundation is a registered UK charity dedicated to preventing domestic abuse and harmful behaviour through trauma-informed education and early intervention.

We work across Liverpool, London and nationally in the UK, as well as in South Africa, supporting at-risk children and young people, survivors of abuse, and individuals at risk of causing harm.

Through structured education programmes, safeguarding training and psychological support, we address the root causes of abuse including poor emotional regulation, low self-worth and unprocessed trauma. Our work builds resilience, strengthens mental wellbeing and helps communities break cycles of violence before they escalate.

Our Work

Three Core Strands

Think Different

Preventing abuse before it starts through trauma-informed education in schools and communities.

ListenApp

Supporting victims of abuse with a discreet, life-saving safety app that provides instant help when it’s needed most.

Perpetrator Programme

A behaviour change programme focused on accountability and breaking cycles of domestic abuse.

Domestic abuse remains one of the most urgent safeguarding challenges facing schools and communities.

3.2 million

In England and Wales, over 2.4 million adults experience abuse each year.

1 in 3

1 in 3 women worldwide and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.

11 minutes

On average, every 11 minutes a woman or girl is killed by someone she knows.

60%

In 2023, nearly 60% of women and girls murdered globally were killed by an intimate partner or family member.

Abuse isn’t inevitable. With prevention and education, we can break the cycle.

Testimonials

Think Different transformed the children and caregivers. It came at a time of grief for our team, and the sessions gave our caregivers real tools to cope and heal.

Valencia, Director at Khaya Centre

The breathing exercises brought peace to my body. I’ve used them at home with my children when we had nothing to eat, and even before funerals. They truly made a difference.

Lungi, Staff at Mount Olive Outreach

You could see the children light up during the sessions. They were energised, engaged, and we are still using the Think Different materials today.

Jacques Nel, Head of School at Somerset College

I’ve been abused, and for the first time in my life, I can let that go. I now have a different understanding and perspective, it was like you explained everything I felt.
